Celebrating Family & Freedom

Hi Friends,
Did we all have a great Memorial Day weekend? I hope you were all able to celebrate with friends & family.
My dad was in town and we were able to soak up some sun and swim as well as a baseball game.
Instead of making a trifle like I did for last Fourth of July I decided to put it all on a stick.
Here is the dessert I threw together for after dinner tonight.
I didn't have a smaller star cookie cutter so I made a cardboard star and used a paring knife to cut the stars out of the pound cake. Cut pound cake lengthwise three times and you'll get more stars. I added fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and whip cream.
I had a beautiful day with my family and am grateful for every minute.

Thanks for stopping in and sharing your time with me!

Chalkboard Clipboard (Teacher Gift)

Here's how we presented a group gift card to my son's wonderful teacher today. Some of us pitched in for a gift card and I embellished a wood clipboard that she can use in the future.
All I did was paint two coats of black chalkboard paint, spray painted the hardware, and added a flower on the front. I also wrote the year and all the kids names on the back with a paint pen (but forgot to take a pic.)
She loved it!!! We had a fabulous year in Kindergarten. Today was their end of the year celebration. The class sang a few songs including, "What a Wonderful World" Louis Armstrong style...
I was proud I didn't cry like a baby...YET..This is all moving way too fast! 1st grade here we come..:)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week! :)

Nutella Crescents Recipe

Today we had a little end of the year coffee for the kindergarten moms. I sure have enjoyed getting to know these ladies. We have a great group!
I took these little Nutella mini crescents I found via Pillsbury.com
All you do is smear Nutella on the store bought crescent dough, bake, and dip in cinnamon sugar. Seriously easy and delish.
Have a beautiful weekend.

DIY Instagram Magnets

My personal Facebook friends would agree with the statement that I am completely hooked on the brilliant photo ap Instagram. (Ha sorry FB peeps!) But I can't help it. They turn out so darn cute. Instead of having them only live in my phone I turned them into homemade magnets and am giving some to my mom and mom in law for Mother's Day gifts.
They are so easy no pics required! All I did was print a 4x6 of 1 inch instagram photos on my printer with photo paper. I used Mod Podge on black heavy card stock paper to make them thick. After they dried I cut em up. Then I used clear packing tape over the front of each one individually. Use adhesive magnets on the back.

Now I have cute magnets for my thrift store magnetic primer board!

I wish you all a beautiful Mother's Day Weekend. Yesterday I spent an hour in my daughter's preschool painting and playing as part of their Mommy Celebration. I sure do cherish these memories...with an Instagram of course! :)
