Fancy Frugal Life: Goodwill Mirror to Chalkboard

Goodwill Mirror to Chalkboard

I am helplessly addicted to thrifting and spay paint. Together they make the best team.

Here's a recent Goodwill bargain at $5.99. The mirror was not great quality, but I liked the unique shape of this frame so I disguarded the mirror and sent my sweet husband to the Depot to get a piece of wood cut to fit. I sanded and primed both pieces.

Then I rolled on two seperate coats of Rustoleum Chalkboard paint onto the wood, and sprayed the frame with my fav color lately Catalina Mist by Krylon. After they were dry we nailed the wood to the frame and I sanded the edges of the frame a little.

Yay, she looks so great in our entryway now!

And my new chalkboard goes well with this

and this

Why am I so obsessed with all shades of this yummy color?

Maybe cause of this?

Probably :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Very cute. Love the blue. I did this to a goodwill mirror too, but I flipped the mirror over and painted the back of it with chalkboard paint. Worked great. Love the way your mirror looks with the other pieces in your room.

Love the chalkboard and great deal at only $6! Did you know that you can paint the mirror with chalkboard paint? You just have to prime it really well first.
